I discovered a love for fabric in art, delving into collage and fibre arts while taking courses at the Haliburton School of Fine Arts. Now my focus is on colour and form to create pieces that are both functional and beautiful. Coiled cotton baskets, bowls, vases, table runners, and more use multi-coloured, cotton fabrics and cotton rope (and a lot of thread) and are sewn on a regular sewing machine. I love searching for embellishments such as beads, ceramic and pewter ornaments, wire, driftwood, buttons, or found objects.
